“Good market acceptance, affordability and site responsive design are among reasons for awarding a commendation for Lakehouse.

The Project deserves credit for delivering a high density, attractive product in a market that had not previously experienced housing of this type.

It is a credit to the developers that the design incorporated a variety of dwelling types; a strategy which appears to have assisted in a successful sales performance.

A quality development on a constriction budget of $18m delivered on time in 18 months has been achieved.

Very high quality finishes and a strong sense of entry to each apartment with higher than standard doors and ceilings, along with the use of mezzanine levels in some apartments offer a sense of light and space, enhanced by some generous balconies.

An inner-west development has raised the bar for development in the region and earned a commendation in the High Density Development category.

The Lakehouse at Edgewater celebrates the Maribyrnong River through its landmark building and recognises the river region as an essential community and regional asset.

With its waterfront position, the complex’s design achieves the perfect balance of confidence and discretion.

The multi-function community asset delivers a high standard of urban living and commercial opportunity.

Providing a range of housing options, formal and casual dining, food and drink premises and office space, Lakehouse Apartments is a genuine mixed use building.

The building project was kept on time and on budget with a strict and outcome driven planning and design process and the successful sales campaign reflected the quality of the architecture, location and market demand.

Overall it is a community designed around liveability and has exceeded expectations, as is recognised through its commendation.”
